Covering Montgomery County government, including the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department and the court system is my job for The Daily Gazette. I attend weekly county supervisors meetings as well as cover breaking news. I work out of The Daily Gazette's bureau in Amsterdam, New York.

Duties included writing news and feature stories. My beat in my second year with the Daily Iowan is the Iowa City City Council, which includes covering council meetings every two weeks and city issues.

Duties included writing news and feature stories. My beat was the Courts reporter, which included covering trials and going to the Johnson County Court House daily to pick up the day's court happenings.
I worked at the Gazette during the winter break at the University of Iowa. I worked on stories for the Sunday supplement, Johnson County Today, and I covered the Johnson County Board of Supervisors twice a week, much the same as an intern, but for a shorter period.
