It was in June that I was sitting on the steps of a bank in Canajoharie, NY, my laptop on my lap, banging out the story on an ammonia leak at a local candy plant. I sat, with the plant in sight, having found many of the principals, including the mother of one of the people injured. I hooked up my cell phone and filed, just before deadline.

Breaking stories are the stories I am most fond of writing. Events are swirling around and it is my job to sort them out and find the people that will make the story great.

This is a list of most of the stories I have written for the Schenectady Daily Gazette. I cover Montgomery County, just west of Schenectady, writing about local schools, county government, along with police and courts.

Feel free to send me an e-mail at sacoo@mail.com and tell me what you think.
